  How it works:
   
  Each person is welcome to come to a wayStation class to observe
or participate. Once you decide to sign up you will spend an hour with
Brent Bird, the founder and creator of wayStation to tailor a wayStation
program for your individual spiritual, physical and emotional needs.

You have the option of attending a one-hour class 2, 3, 4 or 5 days per week, evenings or mornings. Families or individuals are welcome.

Each weekday class will have a workout, meditation and prayer, and
a short time of teaching and discussion. We also offer service opportunities
for those who choose to participate.

The 3 elements of the wayStation program



Balanced Workout
   
  To be fully alive and engaged our bodies need activity and challenge.
Our world with cars, computers and t.v.'s encourages inactivity
and passivity.

The wayStation program offers a balanced workout of aerobic, flexibility,
breathing and strength training to help bring the body back to its most
natural state - strong, balanced and energized.

Our Program can be done at any fitness level and we won't kill you
with bootcamp attitude. We want to help you remember the joy of
movement children experience on a playground.

The wayStation workout takes the best from all the popular workouts
like yoga, cardio kickboxing, pilates, dumbell and resistance bands and
core training. We mix these up to keep things interesting and challenge
the body with variety at a level you can handle. We invite families to work
out together - call for details.
   

Joyful Eating
   
  Don't Diet - Enjoy Eating
  Food is made for us to enjoy, to savor, to fuel joyful movement and to
celebrate with loved ones. When food is about restriction, being good
and bad, filling emotional needs and overindulging on processed junk
food, then one of the great joys of life can become a cycle of weight
gain, lack of energy, ill health and self hatred.
 
Real Food
  The wayStation program offers you a healthy alternative to all the
crazy diets and false claims. As Julia Child said "food is not poison".
We advocate whole foods, not heavily processed, with healthy blends
of fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, complex carbohydrates, smart fats
and occasional treats. Real Food fuels healthy bodies.
 
Easy Food Prep
  We can provide delicious, healthy prepared frozen meals, tailored for you and your family. Or, we can recommend a healthy diet depending upon your weight loss and fitness goals.



Spiritual Connection
   
  The practice of hope.

In the Christian tradition the wayStation program practices meditation,
prayer, breathing and reading to discover the wisdom of the spirit and
heart. We want to be spiritually alive and connected to God and the
people around us but we get sidetracked with our problems and
schedules. A practice of hope means that each day we want to be
one who brings hope to others and not despair.

Every human encounter has the potential for hope-affirming joyful
living, or despair-destroying opportunities for growth.


Our program is not about being perfect or judgmental or better than
anyone else. We practice at being close to God, letting God love us.
This gives us the strength and calm to love and offer hope to others.
None of the spiritual connecting practices take a special talent or a
"religious" person.

We won't always be who we hope to be for others but with practice,
we can make calmer choices rooted in God's rhythms.
